LIBYA – World War II
One of the most important campaigns of World War II was fought on Libyan soil which still carries scars of the battles. Aside from trenches,bunkers and left over battle equipment, large war cemetries remind us the horrors of the battles. However Libya people still live the horrors day to day as they have to manage through vast areas of minefields still active and still effective. This gallery was shot mainly around Tobruk area where big battles were fought between German, Italian, UK and Free French armies during 1941 and 1942.
